Digital Retailing (DR) aims to transplant the in-dealership vehicle buying/selling process to the dealer’s online showroom: from vehicle research and discovery, pricing, test-drive, deal structure, Finance and Insurance (F&I), and potentially servicing. Although the terminology DR is used widely by many DealerTech vendors, there are only a few end-to-end vehicle ecommerce solutions available. Most DR tools offer singular building blocks like presenting VIN specific payment options online (Desking) or F&I Menu solutions online. Besides, as end-consumers jump between touchpoints during the car-buying journey, dealership technology solutions have to warrant fluid data flow to accommodate a frictionless in-store and online experience.
